The hostas... oh the hostas.... they were spectacular this year!  Until the frost returned... now they are starting over. Mother Nature pulled some nasty tricks on us this year. Early warm weather followed by frosty nights. What is a hosta to do??? While some of them were late bloomers, and they are doing well, those early risers took a bit of a freezing and are only now starting to come back. May be time to focus on the conifers and the perennials... they will have to carry more than their share of the load in 2012. The dwarf and miniature conifers are in! Some new varieties, too, and they will soon be making their market debut. They are great for a fairy garden or small area or patio pot. The ever popular Tri-color beech trees are back as well. And the new Acer psuedoplatynus 'Eskimo Sunset' are in! If you like something a bit out of the ordinary. thest are the ones for you!! The larger conifers are now in and starting to sell like hot cakes! The Muskegon Farmer's Market is starting to bustle with activity. Annual flats and baskets will be everywhere this weekend. With Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13th, you need to get over there and get your choice of baskets before the best selections are gone!  Look for us at the Muskegon Farmer's Market in stalls 61 & 62, on the corner of the back row, next to the drive. Easy in and out for loading that 'must have' item.
